Designed to be action-based, flexible, and rapidly learned, the Standard Response Protocol (SRP) systematically organizes critical tactics for weather events, fires, accidents, intruders, and other immediate threats to personal safety.
The SRP is an ever-evolving framework built through deep, continuous collaboration among first responders, public safety agencies, school districts, and local communities. Every tactic is entirely data-driven, heavily researched, and proven by real-world operational experience.
Compassionate and Controlled Student-Family Reunification
Safe school protocols do not end when an immediate threat is resolved. One critical aspect of crisis response is the accountable reunification of students with their parents or guardians following an emergency. The Standard Reunification Method (SRM) provides safety teams with a proven framework for planning, practicing, and achieving a successful reunification.
A predetermined, practiced reunification process ensures that operations do not further complicate what is already a chaotic, anxiety-filled scene. In fact, putting an orderly reunification plan into action will help pre-
vent emotions from escalating at the site.
Crisis Response & Reunification Plan Assessments
Our Crisis Response & Reunification Plan review and assessment services evaluate your organization's current readiness. We can help identify operational gaps, analyze your incident command structure, and ensure your safety team is fully prepared to conduct a successful Student-Family Reunification following both violent and non-violent critical incidents.
- Logistical Viability: We assess your designated staging, parent check-in / greeting area(s), student accountability method, vehicular or pedestrian traffic flow, and reunification area.
- Command Structure: We assess staff role clarity using the Incident Command System (ICS) framework and The "I Love U Guys" Foundation team member roles.
- Communication Protocols: We review or help develop notification and public information messaging.
- Material Readiness: We can help you build or assess your Reunification Kits to help prepare your team for a successful Reunification.
- Site Verification: We test layout configurations for independent Student Assembly Areas and Parent Check-In Areas to optimize traffic flow and security.
Reunification Team Building, Drills and Exercises
"Recovery starts before the crisis begins." Safely reunifying students or individuals with their families requires a proven, repeatable framework. Our team building, drill and exercise services are built entirely around the nationally-recognized Standard Reunification Method (SRM) developed by The "I Love U Guys" Foundation and the Nation's Leader on Critical Incident Mapping Data from the Critical Response Group (CRG). We help schools, first responders, and community partners establish a common language and execute precise accountability protocols under pressure.
- The SRM Framework: We train your staff on official roles including Greeters, Checkers, Accountants, Reunifiers, and Exit Directors.
- Tabletop Exercises: We facilitate collaborative walkthroughs to build a shared understanding of multi-agency coordination and logisitics.
- Reunification Exercises (REx): We conduct customized immersive, hands-on live simulations utilizing The "I Love U Guys" Foundation SRM principles.
- Accountability Tactics: We drill staff on the foundation's signature method which includes reunification card workflows.
